The native habitat of Celestial Pearl Danios is Myanmar, previously known as Burma, in Southeast Asia. Primarily, they hail from a very particular water body – a small, freshwater body locally known as ponds not far from the village of Hopong.
Discovered in 2006, they were quickly introduced to the aquarium trade, gaining substantial popularity for their vivacious coloration and size that caters ideally to nano tanks. These naturally occurring habitats are cool, slow-moving, or stagnant water bodies rich in vegetation. This information should guide you to replicate their habitat as closely as possible in your home aquarium.
